01 / Overview
About this policy
Disciplo is a DBA of Meks Group LLC (“Disciplo,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). We provide church management software for member care, follow-up, attendance, giving, communications, and discipleship workflows.
This policy applies when you visit getdisciplo.com, create or use a Disciplo account, communicate with us, or receive SMS or email messages through a Disciplo-powered program. It describes the categories of information we handle, why we use it, when it may be disclosed, and the choices available to you.
By using the services, you acknowledge this policy. Messaging consent is requested separately and is never created merely by accepting this policy.
02 / Responsibilities
Our role and the church’s role
For account, website, billing, and direct support information, Disciplo determines how the information is handled. For congregation, guest, volunteer, donor, and child information entered by a participating church, the church generally determines why and how that information is used, and Disciplo processes it to provide the services.
Participating churches are responsible for:
- Providing appropriate notices and obtaining any permission or consent required to enter, upload, or communicate with people through Disciplo.
- Limiting access to authorized staff and volunteers and maintaining accurate role permissions.
- Using sensitive care, prayer, giving, and children’s information only for appropriate church purposes.
- Maintaining proof of SMS and email consent and honoring withdrawal requests.
If your information was entered by a church, please contact that church first about access, correction, or deletion. We will assist the church in responding when appropriate.
03 / Collection
Information we handle
Account and contact information
Name, church or organization name, role, email address, phone number, mailing or billing address, account credentials, preferences, and communications with our support team.
Church-entered records
Information an authorized church user enters or imports may include member and guest profiles, household relationships, contact details, demographic information, attendance and check-in history, groups, volunteer roles, ministry milestones, follow-up tasks, prayer requests, pastoral care notes, form responses, communication preferences, and giving or transaction records.
Messaging and consent records
Mobile numbers, email addresses, message content, delivery status, replies, suppression status, and records showing the date, time, source, method, sender, program, and language associated with an opt-in or opt-out.
Uploaded and generated content
Photos or scans of visitor cards, documents, notes, custom forms, and content generated or summarized through product features. Churches should avoid entering information that is not reasonably necessary for ministry or administration.
Payment and giving information
We may handle transaction identifiers, amounts, dates, payment status, donor attribution, and related billing metadata. Full payment-card details are handled by the payment processor used for the transaction and are not stored by Disciplo.
Website and technical information
IP address, browser and device type, operating system, pages viewed, referring URLs, timestamps, security logs, and information collected through essential cookies or similar technologies. We use this information to operate, protect, and improve the services.
04 / Minors
Children’s information
Disciplo is designed for churches and authorized adult users. It is not directed to children under 13 to create or manage accounts independently. A church may enter information about children for activities such as household records, class rosters, attendance, secure check-in, allergy or safety notes, and parent or guardian contact.
The church is responsible for providing required notices, obtaining parental or guardian permission when required, limiting the information collected, and configuring access appropriately. Disciplo uses children’s information only to provide and protect the services as directed by the church. We do not sell children’s personal information or use it for third-party behavioral advertising.
A parent or guardian who has questions about information maintained by a church should contact that church. You may also email privacy@getdisciplo.com, and we will coordinate with the relevant church where appropriate.
05 / Use
How information is used
We use information to:
- Provide member management, follow-up, attendance, giving, forms, reporting, care, check-in, workflow, and communication features.
- Create, maintain, secure, and support accounts and authenticate authorized users.
- Deliver transactional, informational, customer-care, and promotional SMS and email messages for programs that have the appropriate permission.
- Process transactions, maintain business records, respond to support requests, and communicate service changes.
- Monitor performance, troubleshoot errors, prevent fraud or abuse, and protect users, churches, Disciplo, and the public.
- Comply with law, enforce agreements, and establish or defend legal claims.
- Improve features using aggregated or de-identified information that does not reasonably identify an individual.
We do not use mobile messaging consent to authorize a different sender, program, or purpose from the one presented at the point of opt-in.
06 / Disclosure
Sharing and service providers
We do not sell or rent personal information. We disclose information only as needed to operate the services, follow a church’s instructions, complete a transaction, comply with law, or protect legitimate rights and safety.
These providers may process the minimum information needed to perform services for us and are expected to protect it under applicable agreements. We may also disclose information to professional advisers, payment processors, regulators, courts, law enforcement, or a successor in a merger, financing, reorganization, or sale, subject to applicable safeguards.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties, excluding aggregators and providers of the text messaging services.
07 / SMS terms
SMS Messaging Terms of Service
These terms apply to text messages sent by Disciplo or by a participating church through Disciplo. The sender and messaging program will be identified at the point of opt-in and, where practical, in the messages themselves. Consent applies only to the sender, purpose, and program identified when you subscribe.
Program description
Depending on the choices made at opt-in, messages may include service or event reminders, follow-up and care messages, account alerts, check-in or giving confirmations, support messages, announcements, newsletters, ministry updates, fundraising communications, or promotional offers.
Separate consent
Transactional or informational messages and marketing or promotional messages require separate choices when both are offered. Providing a mobile number alone does not enroll you in marketing messages. Consent is voluntary and is not a condition of purchase, donation, account creation, or use of an unrelated service.
Frequency and charges
Message frequency varies based on the program selected, your interactions, and church activity. Message and data rates may apply. Contact your wireless carrier for plan details.
How to opt out or get help
Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe from that messaging program. You may receive one final confirmation message, after which no further messages will be sent for that program unless you opt in again. Reply HELP for assistance, or contact support@getdisciplo.com.
Delivery and carrier responsibility
Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery depends on your carrier, device, coverage, and other factors outside our control. Supported carriers and messaging availability may change.
Church responsibilities
A church using Disciplo to send messages must obtain and retain consent appropriate to each sender, recipient, channel, and message purpose. A church may not treat an imported phone number, membership record, or consent given to another sender as permission to send Disciplo-powered messages.
08 / Email terms
Email communications
Disciplo and participating churches may send transactional emails necessary to provide requested services, such as account, security, donation, registration, support, and service notices. Where permitted, you may also separately subscribe to newsletters, announcements, ministry updates, fundraising messages, or promotional emails.
- Marketing emails will identify the sender and use accurate sender and subject information.
- Marketing emails will include a working unsubscribe method and the sender’s valid postal address.
- We will process marketing unsubscribe requests promptly and no later than 10 business days after a valid request. You may still receive essential transactional or security messages that are not promotional.
- A church must have appropriate permission or another lawful basis before importing an address or sending email through Disciplo.
To stop promotional email, use the unsubscribe link in the message or contact support@getdisciplo.com.
09 / Safeguards
Retention and security
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the services, maintain an active church account, follow the church’s instructions, document consent and opt-outs, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal, tax, accounting, and security obligations. Retention may vary by data type and account configuration. When information is no longer required, we delete, de-identify, or securely isolate it, subject to backup and legal-retention cycles.
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including access controls, role permissions, authentication, monitoring, and encrypted transmission where appropriate. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Churches and users should use strong credentials, restrict access, and promptly report suspected misuse.
10 / Choices
Your choices and privacy rights
Depending on your relationship with Disciplo and applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information; ask for a portable copy; object to or restrict certain processing; or appeal a response. You may also:
- Reply STOP to withdraw from an SMS program.
- Use an email’s unsubscribe link to stop promotional email.
- Adjust available account and communication settings.
- Contact the participating church about records the church controls.
To submit a privacy request directly to Disciplo, email privacy@getdisciplo.com. We may verify your identity and authority before completing a request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.
